Edmund Optics® (EO), and Varioptic, a business unit of Parrot Drones SAS, announce the availability of the variable focus Arctic Liquid Lens in the Edmund Optics catalog. Both Varioptic Arctic 25H0 (2.5mm clear aperture) and Arctic 39N0 (3.9mm clear aperture), and their respective Development and Evaluation Kits, are now available.
In addition to these two products, Edmund Optics® is releasing a new product family of C-Mount lenses, the Cx Series. These lenses are modular, and Varioptic Liquid Lens can be inserted directly into the C-Mount lens, among other options.
"We are delighted to partner with Edmund Optics®," mentions Samuel Grand, Varioptic BU Director. "Varioptic has been focusing successfully on adoption of Liquid Lenses technology by large OEM accounts, and our products being now available from Edmund Optics® catalog will make it easier for the worldwide optical community to follow."
"The Varioptic Liquid Lens was an obvious fit into our product offering," says Gregg Fales, Senior Product Line Manager at Edmund Optics®, "The unique advantages of this technology, such as high optical quality, low power, or unique resistance to vibrations and shocks, fills a technology gap for our customers. In addition to the Arctic series, the Cx Series can allow our clients focused on imaging to test the liquid lens in a very versatile manner, and provide flexibility that has never before been available with our machine vision lenses. This technology has matured and now has a proven record in the field of machine vision and life sciences, markets which are growing quickly for Edmund Optics®."
The Cx Series will be demonstrated at the Vision Show in Stuttgart, from November 8th to November 10th, at the Edmund Optics® Hall / Booth: 1 E41.
The Varioptic Arctic DK's can be found: #34-284 and #34-285, as the Edmund Optics® "Cx" series can be found: https://www.edmundoptics.com/imaging-lenses/fixed-focal-length-lenses/Cx-Series-Fixed-Focal-Length-Lenses/.
